The Query Parameters Section

The query parameters section allows you to enter the keywords on which you wish to search and modify the parameters of the search.

The parameters that can be modified include:

• The document collection being searched
• Whether the search should yield documents, terms, or both
• The number of documents, terms, or both you wish returned as the result of the search
• The number of dimensions to examine while searching

You can enter any number of words for LSI searching. After you have entered the search words in the box labeled "Keyword Query" and modified the parameters as you desire, click on the "Submit Query" button to perform the search.

LSI will return (in the results section) a rank-ordered list of best matching documents, terms, or both. Words in the text that directly match your query words will be HIGHLIGHTED, but some some matching documents may not share any words with your query.

The words you entered for the query will be automatically entered in the "Keyword Query" box when the results of the search are displayed. The words may be removed or modified to alter the next query.
